Plus markets, fun runs and youth-led conversations (June 16)
Vusi Mahlasela will be performing at Paul Cluver on Saturday 10th March 2012.
Vusi Mahlasela, is simply known as `The Voice` in his home-country, South Africa, celebrated for his distinct, powerful voice and his poetic, optimistic lyrics.
His songs of hope connect Apartheid-scarred South Africa with its promise for a better future. Raised in the Mamelodi Township, where he still resides, Vusi became a singer-songwriter and poet-activist at an early age teaching himself how to play guitar and later joining the Congress of South African Writers.
After his popular debut on BMG Africa, When You Come Back, Vusi was asked to perform at Mandela`s inauguration in 1994 and continues to spread Mandela`s message as an official ambassador to Mandela`s HIV/AIDS initiative, 46664.
Have a picnic, buy estate wine and enjoy an evening of entertainment with great stars, under the stars!
Paul Cluver is the most unique and awe inspiring setting for performances and it is only 45 minutes drive from Cape Town International. A towering Eucalyptus forest circles the intimate open-air arena, which has been hewn from farm timber in its entirety. Performances are specifically chosen to match the natural acoustics of the venue.
Directions:
From Cape Town:
Get onto the N2 national road, continue on the N2 until you cross over Sir Lowry’s Pass, miss both turnoffs to Elgin/Grabouw and then turn left into Kromco (a huge apple packing Co-Op) Follow the Paul Cluver signs to the cellar or amphitheatre (distance from Kromco turnoff on the N2 approximately 1.5km to the cellar and 2km to the amphitheatre.
