This challenging trail run is one of the South African Ultra Championships. That’s right runners, the Hout Bay Trail Challenge will host its annual 40-km challenge on Saturday, 5 August 2017, which also includes 2500m of climbing; which sounds pretty hectic to us!
Being one of the oldest trail runs in the country, this adventure race takes you through the most pristine forests and rocky mountain trails that surround Hout Bay, starting from the Hout Bay Yacht Club. The race is about 41-km long with a total climb of 2500m, all of which you can complete individually or in stages as a team of three.

The narrow trail is perilous at times, and so only 250 entries will be accepted (a team of three counts as one entrant). Make sure you sign up early to say that you have taken part in a true test of strength and character, not to mention traversing the unbelievably beautiful Cape landscape high above the coastal suburb.
