Saturday Lunch Fun at Roast & Co.
Every Saturday in the historic Heritage Square courtyard, Roast & Co. serves up terrific lunch deals on tapas with live entertainment to create a buzz
A historic courtyard with a modern vibe. Every Saturday afternoon the upscale chicken roastery, Roast & Co., hosts fantastic lunchtime specials which include talked-about tapas and drinks.
Try the Mzansi Mac & Cheese (R56), an authentic South African spin on a classic and the Onion Bhaji (R48) among others, but of course, no visit here is complete without getting your hands dirty with their famous chicken. The full bird (R210) is done to flame-grilled perfection and enough to feed the whole brood, while half (R112) and quarter (R65) options are available for those feeling peckish.
Look out for monthly themed events centred around wine, gin, beer and more. Every day, excluding Sundays, drink specials in the form of 2-for-1 deals can be savoured from 5pm-7pm, which includes house brands such as select Warwick wines, Stella Artois beer and Tanqueray build-your-own gin & tonics - excellent reasons to turn a lingering tapas lunch into an early-evening affair.
Another must-try at Roast & Co. is one of their signature cocktails. Try the Raspberry Julep (Bulleit Bourbon, raspberry, mint & soda), Heritage Sunset (Tanqueray Gin, bitter orange syrup, Aperol & soda) or the Shortmarket Manhattan (Johnnie Walker Gold, Lapsang Tea Vermouth, peach) for a flavour explosion.
This landmark courtyard is transformed into an upbeat ambience with live music provided from a varying lineup of live musicians and DJ’s among the likes of Gerry Liberty, Lone Raynger, Blair Taberer, Leyton Leigh and Brett Aiken. Follow Roast & Co. on Facebook to receive updates about what’s happening at the city’s vibey heritage site.
Also check out their Mon–Sat happy hours with after-work drinks specials at Roast & Co.
