Gin and Jazz: what a combo!

The combination of local craft gin and sensationally smooth jazz makes for a wonderful Friday night out

If you’re looking to add a touch of sophistication to your evenings, then we have a treat for you! The Devon Valley Hotel in Stellenbosch is offering a gin and jazz experience that you won’t soon forget. Every Friday in August, starting on Friday, 4 August, the hotel will be serving  locally crafted gin as you enjoy the sounds of exceedingly talented jazz musicians.

Located in the picturesque Stellenbosch winelands, the Devon Valley Hotel is the epitome of of ‘peace and quiet’. This charming hotel invites visitors to embrace the tranquility, while still being able to easily head to Stellenbosch to experience all of the activities on offer in the famous town.

The gin hero of the evening is the sensational, locally crafted ClemenGold Gin. The spirit is crafted at the Hope on Hopkins Gin Distillery in Salt River, using the delicious clementines that we get in South Africa. The skin, pulp and juice are all utilised in the process (so there is minimal wastage, and maximum clementine flavour). Every sip of ClemenGold Gin delights the palate and allows a sweet fruitiness to dance across your tastebuds. What is better than gin? Locally crafted gin with a conscience, of course.

At the events the Devon Valley Hotel mixologists will whip up a selection of gin cocktails with the ClemenGold. The cocktails include a Sweet Melissa, a ClemenGold Gin Martini, a Jackie Collins and a Lillet. For those that are wondering, a Jackie Collins is a special take on the classic Tom Collins cocktail.
