Double Tuesday Pizza Special at Sgt Pepper
Let the good times roll at this favourite Cape Town music haunt
Sgt Pepper is Long Street’s hot socialising spot, where friends gather for good times and great food. Raised on pizza and rock ‘n roll, the Sgt has specials every day of the week, but their Double Tuesday deal (where you get two pizzas for the price of one) is a particular crowd pleaser.
One of Sgt Pepper’s defining features is its menu. As unique as a Jimmy Page guitar solo, it’s packed to the brim with deliciously quirky burgers named in honour of iconic song-makers and their hits (the burger version of The Cranberries is almost as beloved as the band). Then there are the pizzas: Playfully personified as pin-up girls (from Tannie Tandoori to the stern-faced Sheriff and Wild Thing) they adorn the walls of the twinkling balcony outside.
The price of the pizzas range between R60 and R115 and you only pay for the pricier one – the other is free.
The Sgt, which is a great hangout to take friends for its laid-back feel, is all about the special touches. Pop into the Red smoking bar to admire the icons on the wall, head to the main bar for a Stroh Rum-laced low flyer or roll the dice for a bit of fun and a tailor-made drink. Live bands frequently perform and, if you’re born to be wild, stick around for the bass-chilling beats of their resident DJ.
COST OF THE DOUBLE TUESDAY SGT PEPPER SPECIAL
The special runs from 11am until 11pm on a Tuesday and is applicable to pizzas priced between R60 and R115. It’s a buy-one-get-one-free deal, you pay for the more expensive item.
