Corporate Team Building with HintHunt
Get the staff bonding with this exhilarating live group escape game in Cape Town
‘Team building’ evokes as much enthusiasm in the office place as the idea of standing in a 50m-long queue at the Department of Home Affairs. Everyone pictures themselves sitting around a 30 seconds board, paired with a co-worker they’ve never spoken to before, either that or they’re suffering through a game of Pictionary. All activities making you feel as awkward as each other. The thrilling live group escape game HintHunt, however, takes all the pretense and discomfort out of the standard staff bonding experience and injects it with enough fun and excitement to last all business year long.
During this unique, completely out-of-this-world challenge, which took London by storm in 2012 and was then brought to the Mother City in 2013, groups of between three and five or six are locked in a cleverly designed replica room for 60 minutes. The team’s objective is to work together; combining all their skills, strengths and intellectual abilities to solve a series of puzzles, and conundrums in order to break out of the space before their time runs up.
HintHunt is a blast! You can expect an hour jam-packed with adrenaline raising, pulse quickening commotion. The countdown clock ticking away as you and your fellow employees rush to find the clues hidden within the room and decode cryptic messages is a sure way to break the ice and is ideal for boosting workers’ morale and improving collective performance. The only way you’re conquering the challenge, and making it out of the room in time, is by working as a unit. Communication is key as well as efficient collaboration of skills and expertise; teams must work to each others’ strengths and supplement each other's shortcomings. This interactive, problem solving experience is an especially great way to get a sense for staff members’ personalities and how they handle stressful situations.
Teams lucky enough to beat the ticking clock, crack the final code and secure their freedom, leave with a great sense of camaraderie and collective achievement. They’re sure to keep talking about the exhilarating experience for days to come. Teams who aren’t as successful needn’t worry, the game is designed to be challenging and test your limits. Plus, because the venue has three sets of two identical rooms (two John Monroe’s Offices, two Japanese-themed Zen rooms and new brand-new nautical-themed Submarine venues, which have two different missions available to play), so you can return motivated and ready to take on the game as often as you desire. Larger companies can split their employees into groups and have them compete to see who finishes first (if they finish at all), which only adds to the excitement.
If companies are looking to enjoy a day of team building and bonding activities, not only will HintHunt avail its rooms for workers to play multiple times but the space offers up their entire space for event hire. This would include the beautiful modern multifunctional conference space, business lounge and fully stocked bar (100 people capacity) which comes complete with free Wi-fi, HD projector and screen. This means that you can conduct team meetings, leadership presentation and brainstorming sessions on site, in an informal yet creative space. All activities and offerings are flexible and HintHunt takes pride in offering clients tailor-made packages to suit any office’s needs and budget.
Set in Woodstock’s trendy Old Biscuit Mill, HintHunt is centrally located so it’s not necessary for businesses to travel far out of town for a memorable corporate event. What’s more, the indoor ender’s game is suitable for all of Cape Town’s ever-changing seasons.
Needless to say, if looking to get the staff together in a way that won’t make them yawn; HintHunt is the winning way forward.
