A Reflection of the Words on the Streets of Cape Town and South Africa

On the last Thursday of every month a variety of poets, acoustic - Live Band , Soul Hip-Hop, songbirds, musicians and dance performances take their place on the Theatre 2 stage at the New Space Theatre.

Skom Production and IKAPA Dance Theatre brings you the 2010 Poetry on Long "New beginnings" show at the New Space in Long Street. This month's show brings new beginnings and new changes with new performance at the New Space for poetry lovers in the City of Cape Town.

Each event features a poet/spoken word artist, a live band and an increasingly popular open mic session. The latter often enjoy spontaneous collaborations and it is not unusual to see a poet jamming with a guitarist who's backed by a human beat-machine.
