Waterworld Strand Water Park’s Free Putt-Putt Special
False Bay’s finest family fun zone is offering a complimentary game of mini golf to birthday party bookings
At least once a year parents all around the world have to worry about what to do for their kids’ birthday parties. Finding an option that is affordable, safe and that will also meet the exacting expectations of the youth of today can be tricky. But it doesn’t have to be.
Waterworld Strand, located next to one of False Bay’s most beautiful beaches and only a 35-minute drive from Cape Town, is looking to put smiles on the faces of kids and parents alike with an exclusive CapeTownMagazine.com special. The deal treats anyone who makes a birthday booking for a group of 10 or more and mentions the publication to a free round at the on-site putt-putt course for all members of the party (valued at R20 per person)!
Even without the freebie though, the wholesome spot is a brilliant place to celebrate. The small, intimate park is run by a husband-and-wife team who are passionate about bringing clean, safe fun to the Western Cape’s kids.
The environment comprises manicured, leafy grounds and extremely well-maintained facilities (waterslides, jungle gyms, a café) and is supported by the smiling staff members who are all trained in first aid. And because no alcohol, glass bottles or braais are allowed, there’s little chance that a ‘bad element’ will ruin your little one’s special day.
Speaking of those a half pint and a penny high, the great thing about Waterworld Strand is that it appeals to a wide range of ages. On a typical day you might see under-6s (and their parents) buzzing around in a special fenced off area under the shade of milkwood trees while older kids queue eagerly for the various slides – there are five. A few teens will likely by playing on the (very impressive) rope ladder obstacle course, while next door a giggling, hand-holding 20-something couple might be trying their hand at putt-putt. Some parents will undoubtedly sit in the café area sipping Lavazza coffees and nibbling on pizza while others join in all the sliding and swimming fun.
Not to mention, because you can bring your own food and drinks at no extra charge, Waterworld Strand is an extremely affordable birthday option. Alternatively, you can rely on the (excellent) café to cater – it serves up pizza, toasted sandwiches, boerie rolls and more.
