Water World Strand

Waterworld Strand Water Park’s Free Putt-Putt Special

False Bay’s finest family fun zone is offering a complimentary game of mini golf with birthday party bookings

At least once a year parents all around the world have to worry about what to do for their kids’ birthday parties. Finding an option that is affordable, safe and that will also meet the exacting expectations of the youth of today can be tricky. But it doesn’t have to be.

Waterworld Strand, located next to one of False Bay’s most beautiful beaches and only a 35-minute drive from Cape Town, is looking to put smiles on the faces of kids and parents alike with an exclusive CapeTownMagazine.com special. The deal treats anyone who makes a birthday booking for a group of 10 or more, and mentions the publication, to a free round at the on-site putt-putt course for all members of the party (valued at R25 per person)!

Even without the freebie though, the wholesome spot is a brilliant place to celebrate. The small, intimate park is run by a husband-and-wife team who are passionate about bringing clean, safe fun to the Western Cape’s kids.

The space comprises manicured, leafy grounds and extremely well-maintained facilities (waterslides, jungle gyms, a zip slide and café) and is supported by the smiling staff members who are all trained in first aid, plus a full-time lifeguard. And because no alcohol, glass bottles or braais are allowed, there’s little chance that a ‘bad element’ will ruin your little one’s special day.

Speaking of those a half pint and a penny high, the great thing about Waterworld Strand is that it appeals to a range of ages. On a typical day, you might see under-6s (and their parents) buzzing around in a special fenced-off area under the shade of milkwood trees while older kids queue eagerly for the various slides, of which there are five! A few teens will likely be playing on the (very impressive) rope ladder obstacle course, while next door a giggling, hand-holding 20-something couple might be trying their hand at putt-putt. Some parents will undoubtedly sit in the café area sipping Lavazza coffees and nibbling on pizza while others join in all the sliding and swimming fun.

Not to mention, because you can bring your own food and drinks at no extra charge, Waterworld Strand is an extremely affordable birthday option. Alternatively, you can rely on the (excellent) café to cater for you – they serve pizza, toasted sandwiches, boerie rolls and more. Party packs are particularly popular so that’s worth considering too for an extra spoil.

As Waterworld has a well point, it’s also water-wise and open despite the drought, with multiple water tanks collecting water for recycling around the park – it’s all processed and squeaky clean.

COST AND BOOKING INFO FOR WATERWORLD STRAND WATER PARK’S BIRTHDAY SPECIAL

To book the CapeTownMagazine.com special, simply mention the publication at the time of making the reservation. Call them on +27 (0) 21 854 4702 or email info@waterslides.co.za.

For groups of between 10 and 30 people, you’ll pay R80 per person for a two-hour party slot. Groups of more than 30 people pay R75 per person for a two-hour slot. Non-participating adults (apart from the parents and grandparents of the birthday boy or girl) pay R15 each.

Waterworld Strand is open from 9am to 6pm daily during season, including weekends, school holidays and public holidays. During the school term it’s closed on Mondays and open from Tuesday to Friday from 1pm to 6pm.

Note: The park is closed on Christmas Day, 25 December 2017 and from 2 May 2018 until 1 September 2018.
