This festive season is jam-packed with activities and events, but if you’re looking to escape the buzz of the Mother City then head out to the picturesque coastal town of Hermanus for a boozy affair. The Hermanus Craft Beer Festival gets underway on Friday, 22 December at the Whalehaven Winery and is the perfect precursor to a relaxing Christmas getaway.
There’s no better way to escape the heat of summer than with an ice-cold brew of your favourite beer from a local craft producer. Sample varieties of lagers, pilsners, IPAs, stouts and more at this seaside celebration of the fizzy, fermented beverage.
To soak up some of the alcohol, a range of food trucks will be on site selling their tasty treats and gourmet goodies. Tuck into delicious fare while enjoying live performances by Rumswinger, Matt Carstens and Francois Van Coke – this is a sure way to get the festive ambience going.
Although beer is the order of the day, this gathering is a family-friendly affair with plenty of activities on the cards for the little ones. While you’re sampling the liquid gold, your kids can run wild and expend some energy in the safe play area. So bring a picnic blanket and camping chairs, and prepare for a day of fun in the sun with the family.
