Emo Night is bringing their latest instalment to well-loved Aandklas in Stellenbosch on Saturday, 6 May 2017. Emo Night is a conceptually unique event that celebrates the music that was born of the emo movement that took the mid-2000s by storm. Think back to a time of long black fringes that covered one eye almost entirely, a time where too much eyeliner was never enough and all black everything was a wardrobe staple. Those of you who went through this phase, or adopted it for life, should already be frothing at the musical opportunity this one-night-only emo extravaganza holds.
Expect another signature high-octane evening that will boast all the back-to-back emo ballads from the mid-2000s including the likes of Blink182, Sum41, Fall Out Boy, Panic! At The Disco, My Chemical Romance, Green Day and probably every other band you cried your eyes out to while singing full volume during your emo days. If you’re craving something alternative or just a reason to let it all hang out with your mates over some reasonably priced drinks and some nostalgic emo beats, then this is the right party for you!
The event is hosted in collaboration with Cape Town-based melodic punk band Past Haunts and indie-rock outfit Forefront who will be belting out some of their own tunes as well as sick covers of pop-punk songs for you to bang your head to. To make it an even more emotional affair, It’s also Forefront’s last performance so be sure to head on down for their fiery farewell.
