Comedians for Smiles with David Grier

Enjoy a laugh a minute at this fab and flowery affair that supports the Miles for Smiles initiative

After the success of last year, the Comedians for Smiles comedy fest is back with a fantastic line-up and flower power theme to support the Cipla Miles for Smiles initiative.  You can catch all the smiles on Saturday, 30 May 2015 at Villiera Wine Farm in Stellenbosch. Hosted by the indomitable David Grier, and with a stellar comedian crew that includes KG, Tracy Klass, Stuart Taylor and Mum-Z, guests can expect a laugh a minute for a wonderful cause.

The Cipla Miles for Smiles initiative raises money to facilitate corrective surgeries for Operation Smile patients – children born with cleft lips and palates. Comedians for Smiles forms part of its fundraising portfolio and epitomises the campaign’s aim to inspire individuals to make a difference in the lives of others, in this case having a huge amount of fun while doing so.

Guests this year can anticipate a sentimental throwback to the 70s – flower power will be in full bloom with décor, mood music and more to get you in the zone to share the love and let loose. The evening commences with welcome drinks in the Rainbow room, after which (an obviously fake) Yoko Ono and John Lennon will be greeting festival goers in the Ignite Hope room, where specially designed T-shirts by Louis Storm will also be on sale.

A smorgasbord of sumptuous canapés will be on offer, paired with award-winning Villiera wines, which will be followed by a delectable dinner served in the Peace and Love Rally area. Guests can sit back, relax and enjoy being entertained by fire-dancers, Studio54 DJs, go-go dancers and high-energy dance-offs. Finally, the night will culminate with side-splitting laughs in the Woodstock of Comedy room, where the comedic entertainment will commence. Aside from the main events, there will be an auction of key artworks from Louis Storm’s Ignite Hope collection, and the Cipla Foundation will also launch its current Ignite Hope CSI campaign.

So if you’re looking for a laugh and a way to put smiles on hundreds of children’s faces then don your bellbottoms, stick flowers in your hair and gather your family for a fantastic evening in the Winelands.
