Treat yourself to an afternoon of indulgence at Joostenberg farm in the gorgeous Cape Winelands

Head to Stellenbosch for an afternoon of great wine and tasty nibbles at the fourth annual Feast of Shiraz and Charcuterie, taking place at the all-new venue of Joostenberg Deli and Bistro on Saturday, 30 May 2015. Celebrated Hartenberg Estate winemaker Carl Schultz has personally selected the group of winemakers, charcuterie masters and gourmet cheese and olive producers, who will showcase their wares and remind foodies that local is, in fact, quite lekker.

The spicy Shiraz varietal takes centre stage, and each winery will have an opportunity to indulge the senses of connoisseurs with their own version of the robust red. Guests can sample the wonders these artisans have to offer and line their stomachs with delicious complementary meats prepared by chefs from various restaurants and bistros. The mouth-watering offerings will be paired with freshly baked breads and perfectly salty olives to complete the exercise in indulgence. What’s more, most wines presented will be available for purchase or order on the day, so you can put together an eclectic collection of top-notch Shiraz without having to drive to estate after estate.

TICKETS FOR THE 2015 FEAST OF SHIRAZ AND CHARCUTERIE AT JOOSTENBERG DELI IN STELLEBOSCH

Tickets for the food and wine extravaganza are available via Webtickets.co.za and cost R180p/p; this price includes a glass and wine tastings. This year, there’s also a special tutored tasting taking place from 10am until 11:30am just before the festival begins. This unique offering allows guests to do a comparative tasting of five or more wineries’ 2005 Shiraz; tickets for this are R230p/p, which includes a seat at the sampling session, entry to the main show and a coffee and croissant before the fest begins. The main event starts at 12pm and continues until 5pm.
