ABSA Calitzdorp Port and Wine Festival

The annual ABSA Calitzdorp Port and Wine Festival is set to take over the Klein Karoo from Friday, 14 to Monday, 17 June 2013.
Located just four hours from Cape Town along the scenic Route 62, Calitzdorp is the gateway to the Garden Route and is known as the port wine capital of South Africa.
The line-up promises to be bigger and better than ever before, with all kinds of events to keep you entertained all weekend long. Be the first to sample the unique Calitzdorp Blend (Portuguese cultivars) with barrel samples available at eight different cellars. Enjoy a cooking demonstration with the talented Emile Joubert and Lise Beyers using Tinta Barocca, Touriga Nacional and port wines from Calitzdorp. There will also be a Cheese and Wine Celebration lead by Cape Wine Academy Master Junel Vermeulen and a local cheese expert, showcasing regional and international cheese with port and port cultivar wines.
Whether you’re a wine connoisseur or just a big drinker with a penchant for partying, this event is undoubtedly a social calendar highlight.
Tickets for the 2013 ABSA Calitzdorp Port and Wine Festival
Pre-book your tickets (R35 to R75 per person) through Computicket and watch out for early bird entrance ticket specials. Tickets entitle festival-goers to a Port Pack at various venues throughout the town.
Children (under 18's) will receive a Port Pack, excluding the wine tasting glass and wine tasting card.
The 2-day entrance fee includes only 1 PORT PACK.
The Port Pack includes:
- a program of all events
- map of the town
- wine glass
- tasting card (allowing 10 tastings for use at the Station Barn port and wine tasting venue)
- a coloured wrist band (to be worn by festival goers to ensure access to venues and events on the program)
Additional wine tasting booklets will be on sale in the Station Barn tasting area; R10 for 10 tickets.
NOTE - Festival entrance tickets will also be available, on a cash basis only, at Boplaas, Calitzdorp Cellar and De Krans during the Festival. You can purchase tickets with your credit/debit card at the Computicket Box Office. Tickets for all Premier events will only be available from Computicket. As per the requirements of our National Liquor Act, several events have an age restriction - refer event information where this restriction applies.
